I will introduce Shanghai Natural History Museum.
I went to this museum with my family:my husband, two boys(elementary school students) and a two-year-old daughter. Its size was so vast that we could not look around the whole museum for three and a half hours, but we had a great time there.
The main theme of this museum is about animals, plants, the earth and human' s history.
Prior to entering the museum, we should register our information (name and passport No.) to the designated web-site. First, it is necessary to scan a specified QR code on a notice board near the entrance of museum. After that, foreigners should let museum's staff see their own passport at a counter to get the tickets.
The view from the second floor
The main theme of the second floor is the beginnings of space and living organisms.
Following the slope, we get to the first floor.
The whole view of the first floor There are lots of specimens of animals. How magnificent!
We are overwhelmed by the huge whale and shark.
A skeleton specimen is displayed with a stuffed animal. We can learn how an inner structure of animals is like.
The stuffed giant pandas are unique to China.
Living insects and fish are also displayed. Children will be excited. The main theme of the B1 floor is evolution of animals and plants.
The explanation gives us detailed information about evolution and plenty of fossils displayed are so impressive and informative. I guess these fossils are very valuable and we can't see such many fossils in museums in Japan and other countries.
Evolution charts and fossiles of plants
We can hear one of dinosaur specimens howling. Small children may be scared.
Some specimens are a replica, but there are also lots of authenic fossils.
Fossils of premitive mammals excavated in China. What a large number of fossils!
In the B2 floor, animals in savannah, specimens of plants, insects, rocks and minerals, and samples related to human's history are displayed. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to look at the entire exhibitions on the B2 floor. Next time we come to the museum, we would like to see the B2 floor first.
There are lots of minerals and rocks collected in various parts of China.
I realized how rich natural resources are in China.
Specimens of insects from various countries
A reconstruction of the Africa savannahIf we are lucky, we can see a musical show here.
In addition, there is a 4D theater in the second floor, although we did not see it this time.
